Pardon our dust; this remodel is still underway. Every remodeling project has a story, and the Rawlings home remodel is no exception.
We’re working with returning customers who previously partnered with T. Davis Contractors on an upstairs renovation. This time, we’re helping them update their first floor to better fit their family’s needs.
One of our favorite details so far is the reclaimed barn wood hardwood flooring. The homeowners held onto wood from an old barn for decades, and now we’re milling those boards into flooring for their home.
It’s a great way to give meaningful materials a second life while bringing warmth, character, and a little history into the space. No two boards are exactly alike, which makes this flooring especially personal.
This in-progress project also includes a new slate tile entryway, kitchen updates, and fresh finishes throughout the main living areas. The natural textures of the slate and reclaimed wood add character while helping the updated spaces feel connected.
We’re also creating a first-floor bathroom with accessibility in mind. The homeowners want to make it easier to care for an aging parent, so an accessible bathroom and shower on the main level are key parts of the plan.
It’s a reminder that remodeling isn’t always about changing a home’s look. Sometimes, it’s about making everyday life a little easier for the people who live there.
The Rawlings remodel is still underway, and we’re excited to see these spaces continue to come together. From giving decades-old barn wood a new purpose to creating a home that better supports the family, this project brings together character, comfort, and practical design.
