Project Spotlight: Force Addition

Accessibility-Focused Home Transformation in Perrysburg

After some initial structural stabilization work was completed, the homeowners made a forward-looking decision: instead of simply restoring the home to its former glory, they wanted to reshape it around accessibility, comfort, and daily convenience as they plan for the years ahead and aging in place.

That mindset became the foundation for a full home addition centered on functionality.

Planning the Remodel Around Future Needs

The original garage configuration no longer supported how the homeowners live or how they want to live in the future. The attached garage was removed to make way for a new addition that could better serve everyday needs. At the same time, the detached garage was reconfigured and integrated into the overall plan, allowing the property to function more efficiently as a whole.

This shift created space for a more intentional interior layout, one designed around ease of movement and daily routines. Rather than working around an outdated layout, the addition allowed for a more logical connection between primary living spaces and essential functions. By reworking the footprint, the design now prioritizes accessibility and reduces barriers while still maintaining the overall character of the home.

Bringing Key Living Spaces Indoors

One of the most impactful changes in this addition was relocating the laundry from a hard-to-access garage area into the home itself. Moving their laundry room indoors immediately improved convenience and accessibility, and it will serve them well in the future.

A new primary bathroom was also added, designed with aging-in-place principles in mind. The highlight of this space is a custom-tiled, curbless ADA shower that balances safety with a clean, modern design. The result is a bathroom that supports mobility needs without feeling clinical.

Features like first-floor access to essential amenities make a big difference in long-term livability. By bringing high-use spaces indoors and closer to the home’s primary living areas, we created a more practical setup for aging in place.

Building

From The Ground Up

With the new foundation work complete, the structure progressed through framing and build-out. The addition took shape as it integrated with the existing home, creating a seamless transition between the original footprint and this new living space.

Every stage of the build has been focused on ensuring the new structure feels intentional, stable, and fully connected to the home’s style and long-term goals. From foundation alignment and framing to exterior transitions and interior finishes, each phase required coordination so the new space felt like a natural extension of the original home rather than a disconnected add-on.

A Project

Built on Trust & Adaptation

What makes this project especially notable is the continuity of trust between the homeowners and our construction team. After early structural challenges were addressed, the homeowners chose to move forward with an even larger vision for their home, confident in our planning and execution processes.

We were happy to be a part of this project as it evolved from a simple addition to a redesign of how their home supports daily life now and how it will support them in the future.

5 Stars for the T. Davis Contractors LLC Team. We choose them for our home remodeling project. From their professionalism to their responsiveness we had a very positive experience. A great value and high quality work from the entire team.
